Did someone order this cHaOs?!?!
SqUiGgLy Therapy is an earring-making kit from Manic Dizzy Dream Girl—my dysphoric name for a chapter of my life that was long, strange, and nonlinear, involving poetry, art, trauma, psychosis, spirituality, fear, courage, and the deeply unglamorous work of finding my way back to myself after that 'self' became someone else's non-consenting unconscious play-thing.
I started making these after YEARS of misdiagnoses. I got sicker and sicker between back-to-back hospitalizations, psych wards, and even jail. It wasn't until my lived experience actually mimiced a fully awakened nightmare that I eventually, FINALLY, recieved the trauma-informed care I needed.
It didn't stop the flashbacks and creeping sense that at any moment I could lose sense of my reality... I needed somewhere for all the residual dizzy, colorful, wild-ass thoughts to go. So I went back to clay: the same stuff I played with as a little girl, before every feeling had a file, a label, or a terrifying backstory that was out of those same hands.
Every squiggle is about squiggly time. Because PTSD can make then feel like now; you can be safe in your room while some older version of reality is yelling through your nervous system with every trigger being anything that reminds yourself of you— your body, and what they did to it.
Making squiggle became a genuine ritual for me. Saying: okay, I remember—but I am also here. I can put the chaos in my hands, shape it, cover it in shiny armor, and hang it from my ears instead of carrying it alone inside my head.
This kit makes 10 lightweight, resin-protected pairs of earrings in colors selected for your seasonal color palette. Make a matching pair, make two weird little twins, follow the mini template book, ignore it completely—there's no wrong way to SqUiGgLe. The finished earrings are colorful, transparent, reflective, and a little bit extra on purpose: a reminder that our memories may be part of our story, but they do not have to be the heaviest thing we wear.

the ritual
Prep: Rinse your silicone supplies, clear a clean and well-ventilated little workspace, and pick the colors that are calling your name.
Squiggle: Knead the clay, split it into two, coil it between your fingers, and make a pair. Use the templates, freestyle entirely, or do a little of both. Let each pair dry for 24 hours.
Protect: Once dry, glove up, add eye protection and a mask, then resin-dip your pieces for that glossy, strong, light-catching finish. The box becomes your drip rack, because even the packaging is clocking in for the group project. Double-dip for an extra durable coat of shiny armor.
Secure: Add your rings and huggies, close everything with the pliers, and then get to flaunting your tiny, wearable proof that you stayed.
quick safety note
This is an art-making kit, not medical treatment or therapy, despite the name. Follow the included resin safety instructions: work in a well-ventilated space, use the provided nitrile gloves plus eye protection and a mask, avoid bare-skin contact with uncured resin, and keep all materials away from children and pets.
